Experience

Web Design and Development for the American Association of Physics Teachers/NSF

(November 2005 - Present) I currently work with AAPT and the NSF on the comPADRE Project. ComPADRE is funded by the National Science Foundation and focuses on a web database of educational resources specialized in Physics and Astronomy. I am responsible for all front-end work including initial design and coding of the sites. For coding I utilize standards compliant CSS/XHTML in conjunction with the ColdFusion language. For designing the sites I do all of my work in Photoshop. I also help manage the look and feel of marketing materials and attend conferences to meet with key people and promote the comPADRE project as a whole.

Web Design for EPSEC Corp.

(February 2009-March 2009) EPSEC Corporation wanted to have their web site redone for a couple of reasons. First and foremost was to have a more visually pleasing site that would be accessible by anyone regardless of browsing method. Secondly, due to the most recent update to FireFox, some sites were flagged as being suspected of malicious activity and EPSEC had been a victim unknowingly. Their web site was redone using the XHTML Strict standard, and using Google Web Tools, was verified and removed from the suspected site list. The site utilizes a fully accessible slide show and portfolio, as well as a secure log in for an Employees Only page.

Web Development for Doceus, Inc.

(August 2005 - November 2005) For the three months I worked at Doceus, my main project was the redesign and reworking of their home page from legacy table HTML into a new CSS/XHTML format. I also helped maintain existing client sites, most of them coded in ColdFusion.

Web Design and Development for George Washington University

(June 2004 - August 2005) At GWU I worked in the University Web Services(UWS) department. UWS is responsible for the websites of the school as a whole, and also of the various departments and student organizations that are a part of the GWU family. The core technologies are based in ColdFusion which I worked with on a daily basis and I was personally responsible for a wide range of tasks. These tasks included website design, code creation and maintenance, database integration, and client management.

Web Production for WildCard Systems, Inc.

(May 2000 - April 2004) I designed graphical elements and managed content in various stored value web site projects. Among the most challenging of these projects were the America Online Cash Card web site, the Bank of America Gift Card web site and the Visa Buxx card web site. I also managed the group responsible for the internationalization/translation of the Visa Buxx site graphics for Visa Buxx Latin America. My team and I were consistently recognized for meeting or exceeding quarterly company goals and project deadlines.

Clients included :: Bank of America / America Online / Visa America / Visa Latin America / US Bank / Citbank / National City Bank / First National Bank of Omaha / Simon Malls

Audio Production for RazorPixel

(August 2000 - February 2001) Taking original music of my own design and combining it with sampled elements, I created several music tracks for George Panella's online comic Xamra utilizing my Korg Karma synthesizer, Sound Forge for sound editing, and Acid for final track layout.

Multimedia Design for Projekt Records

(October 1999 - November 1999) I designed, programmed, and authored an enhanced CD Track / Interactive video for Projekt Records artist Sam Rosenthal of Black Tape for a Blue Girl. This was done using Macromedia Director, Adobe PhotoShop and After Effects. This was an international release and the application can be seen on the album "before the buildings fell".

Project Management for Playstation Software

(October 1999 - January 2002) I led a team of individuals in the pre-production of the neukros V project. This included managing story creation, world creation, battle system design, financial planning of project, organizing a team with the correct skillset, and attempting to acquire necessary funds in order to see this project to production. Unfortunately the project never saw the necessary funding to take that next step.

Multimedia Production for the Advanced Engineering Research Associates

(June 1999 - May 2000) I created graphics based on strict guidelines and storyboards while working with a team tasked with creating Computer Based Training(CBT) applications for the U.S. Navy. Taking these graphical assets that the team and I created and implementing them into the final application was my main task. Along with creating the CBT applications I also programmed multiple company demos in Macromedia Director using the Lingo scripting language. I consistently met company deadlines and expectations.
