Matt Riggsbee's Portfolio

I have posted some of my most relevant work below, recent works first. I have provided URLs where possible. Some of the sites I have worked on no longer exist and they will be listed at the bottom of this page.

EPSEC, Corp.

http://www.epsec.org

EPSEC is a professional gabion contractor company that has worked extensively with government agencies and the private sector. They manage, build, and support a wide variety of project disciplines. Over the years, they have managed and executed numerous projects throughout the United States, as well as overseas.

The Nucleus

http://www.compadre.org/student/

The Nucleus is a site created for students of physics and astronomy. It is supported by the American Institute of Physics and the Society of Physics Students among others. There are many resources to aid a student in their research, help find scholarships, and locate summer research opportunities.

The Physics Careers Resource

http://www.compadre.org/careers

This site is an effort by the American Physical Society and the Society of Physics Students to inform prospective students on what they can do with a physics degree. Resources such as a Google maps driven employer locator, as well as a map for degree granting institutions will be a part.

ComPADRE.org

http://www.compadre.org

ComPADRE is a project funded by the National Science Foundation with the goal of collecting quality educational resources together in one location on the web. This site happens to be the Physics and Astronomy portion of that project. Students, Researchers and Educators alike use this site to post, review and utilize the numerous resources that are available to them. My first task with this site was to convert it from table based code, to a CSS/XHTML standard. I have been the lead designer on every collection contained within comPADRE. You can access them all from comPADRE.org which serves as the portal.

myGW Portal

http://my.gwu.edu

My first project when I started working at George Washington University was to redesign the Portal site for the school. I did a bit of everything on this from graphical conceptualizing down to the ColdFusion programming. This site is very important to the faculty and students, helping them with their day to day.

Projekt Records CD Extra

Link to the CD that my work is on. This is not my site.

Projekt Records owner Sam Rosenthal was a big help when I was doing my final project for school, which was based on his record label. So when he needed help with a CD Extra for his next album, I offered to do it. I took the supplied video, digitized it, and then compressed it to a suitable size in order to fit it on the remainder of the CD. The interactive user interface was designed in Photoshop and assembled/programmed in Director.
